Presteigne Reserves will again be in Friday-night action when they will host Newcastle in the quarter-finals of the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales League (South) Cup on 6 March.

Bryn Roberts’ side will be keen to make home advantage count in this one while both managers will be looking for a much tighter defensive showing from their sides.

The recent league meeting between the sides in south Shropshire saw Newcastle run out 8-4 victors.

So, the immediate aim will surely be to tighten up at the back and then look to build from there.

Newcastle have actually completed a league double over the Reserves this season after they ran out 2-1 winners at Llanandras Park in November.

Here’s hoping it proves a case of ‘third time lucky’ for Bryn and his side and they can move through to the last four of the competition.

The kick off will be at 7.30pm and admission prices will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
