Beverley Baynham takes delivery of the Football Club crisps

Presteigne St Andrews FC has been doing its bit to help keep the hard-working staff at East Radnorshire Day Centre topped up with snacks.

While the Day Centre itself is currently closed – for very understandable reasons – the Home Support scheme based at their premises at The Old School on Scottleton Street is busier than ever.

This is where a team of people are on call to visit people in their own homes should the need arise – it is open to anyone over the age of 50 who registers with the project.

Given that the social club at Llanandras Park is unlikely to host any events for the foreseeable future, the club has been doing a stock take of what goods are likely to be out of date before we reopen for business.

It was decided to offer up the crisps and other goodies to the staff at Home Support to help keep them going while they work hard to get some of our more vulnerable residents through the Coronavirus crisis.

East Radnorshire Day Centre’s chief officer Beverley Baynham thanked the club for their support:

“We are very grateful that the Football Club should think of us at this time and I am sure the volunteers will make the most of the donation,” said Beverley.

“Home Support has been very busy in recent weeks with more than 100 new people signing up for up for the service in March alone.”
