Bow Street (yellow shirts) missed the chance to close the gap on the leaders

The Spar Mid Wales League title race is looking increasingly like a two-horse race after third-placed Bow Street lost ground when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Aberystwyth University.

Bow Street remain third but are six points behind the leading pair of Penparcau and Rhayader Town, although they do have a game in hand over Rhayader.

Elsewhere, Llanrhaeadr – who were in sixth spot – came unstuck at Dyffryn Banw where the home side ran out 2-1 victors while seventh-placed Tywyn Bryncrug were held to a 0-0 draw at Newtown Reserves.

It doesn’t get any better for Llanfyllin Town – they were beaten 4-0 at home by Waterloo Rovers and so remain bottom of the table.   Presteigne St Andrews’ 6-0 home win over Caersws Reserves means Llanfyllin remain two points adrift.

In the Mid Wales League (South), Llandrindod Wells ensured they remain in the title chase with a convincing 5-0 home win over Sennybridge, although they will know there is no margin for error if they are to overhaul both Rhosgoch Rangers and Builth Wells.

In the night’s other game, Talgarth Rovers were 1-0 winners at Rhayader Town Reserves.
