….. well, for a day anyway.   Alan Stocker tells me he and his team-mates are going to spend their Bank Holiday Monday taking on the town’s cricket club in a Twenty20 game on the John Beddoes School field.

Some of the Reserves’ squad are reportedly reasonably handy when it comes to cricket, not least of whom is Alan himself who took bags of wickets for the cricket club’s Sunday side last season.

The game itself is due to get underway at 2.00pm on Monday 3 May and all support would be very welcome.

While the footballers will largely drawn from the Reserve-team squad, Alan says all willing participants would be welcome and so they have arranged a net practice session on Sunday 2 May at the East Radnor Leisure Centre between 10.00 and 12.00pm.

We are hoping to get some photographic evidence of the game and will try and get something resembling a report up on the site at some stage next week.

But if you are going down, either to play in the match or to watch – or to help them drink the inevitable light refreshment that will surely be in evidence, then please take a camera with you and email in your best efforts.
