Presteigne St Andrews’ former manager Tim Broome has confirmed he will be assisting Dylan McPhee as Rhayader Town head back into the Cymru Alliance next season.

Tim resigned as manager at Llanandras Park at the end of last season as he has taken on a new job that was going to make committing to Saturday and midweek football much more difficult.

Presteigne chairman Alan Randell said, while some people would find it strange that Broomie would then agree to play a part in a club that will face much more travelling, the new appointment will be very much on Tim’s terms.

“Credit to Tim, he was in touch with me the other night as he wanted me to hear before the news was in the public domain,” he said.

“While he will be the assistant to Dylan at Rhayader next season, this doesn’t mean he is going to be there for every match as his work probably won’t allow that anyway,” he added.

Rhayader Town confirmed at their AGM they would be taking up the place they have been offered in the Cymru Alliance and, thanks to the reduction in the number of clubs in the FAW Premier League, it is promising to be a very tough league next season with sides such as Rhyl, Technogroup Welshpool and Newi Cefn Druids due to be among the visitors to the Weirglodd.
