Match previews ahead of the weekend action

Both of Presteigne St Andrews’ senior sides will be in action this weekend with the first team due to welcome Dolgellau to Llanandras Park.

Manager Barry Williams will have to make further changes to his squad due to injury, not least in goal as Trevor Gummer is likely to miss out due to an ankle problem.

Luke Brimfield may well come into Barry’s thinking after solid performances for the Reserves in recent games.

Dolgellau will make the long trip south looking to add to Presteigne’s woes, but the home side will feel there have been signs of improvement in recent matches and if they can cut out the individual errors then there is every chance of them opening their points account for the season.

Like Dolgellau, Presteigne Reserves will also head south as they are off to Sennybridge for their Mid Wales League (South) game.

Andy Crowe’s side will be clear favourites for this one – Sennybridge were hammered 11-0 at Knighton Victoria last weekend and have also conceded seven goals and nine goals in other matches this season.

But ‘Crowie’ will be missing a host of key players due to a wedding as well as injuries and other reasons, so will be fielding a youthful side for this one.

There are previews of both matches on the team’s respective pages on the website so click on the relevant tab at the top of the page and you can read more from both managers.

Both games kick off at 2.30pm and it is hoped to have the results up on the home page on Saturday evening, while more detailed match reports will follow either on Sunday 26 or Monday 27 September.
