Preview of the weekend action

Presteigne St Andrews FCThere is no doubt as to where the Spar Mid Wales League’s match of the day will take place – leaders Llanrhaeadr will host second-placed Berriew in a match that – were Llanrhaeadr to win it – they could go eight points clear at the top of the table.

For this to happen, though, they would need two other results to go their way – Bow Street would have to lose at home to Builth Wells, while Llansantffraid Village would also have to go down in their game at Tywyn Bryncrug.

In addition to Presteigne St Andrews’ home game against Dolgellau, Penparcau will be at home to Carno, while Newbridge have home advantage in their match against Waterloo Rovers.

Kerry are seven points clear at the top of the second division table as they go into their game at home to Montgomery Town while second-placed Rhosgoch Rangers are at home to an Aberaeron side that is yet to register a point this season.

Llanfyllin Town – who are third – head to Tregaron Turfs while Talgarth Town face a trip to Abermule.

Llandrindod Wells are also on the road – they travel to Meifod while Llanfair United will have home advantage in their match against Four Crosses.

In the Mid Wales League (South) Knighton Town will become the latest side to try and put a dent in Rhayader Town Reserves so far unblemished league record when they will head to the Weirglodd.

Presteigne Reserves travel to Sennybridge for their game and they will be hoping to take the three points they need to keep up the pressure on the leaders, while second-placed Newcastle face a difficult-looking trip to Talgarth Town Reserves.

Hay St Marys will be optimistic as to their chances in their home match against St Harmon while there will be a derby game at The Broadway in which Llandrindod Wells Reserves will host Newbridge Reserves.

In the day’s other games, Penybont Athletic will play hosts to Radnor Valley, while Bronllys will have home advantage in their game against Builth Wells Reserves.
