Busy weekend ahead at home and away

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Three games in two days at Llanandras Park

Presteigne St Andrews players and officials are facing a busy weekend with the small matter of four games in two days.

Ok, so we have sides in only three of them, but the club is staging three of the four so it will mean all hands to the pumps for club officials and helpers.

The first team will head to Dolgellau for their Spar Mid Wales League first division game – surely only a win will do if the squad is to harbour any hopes of performing a late-season Houdini act to escape the drop to the second division.

Barry Williams hopes to be able to select from a strong squad for the game at a Dolgellau side that has won only once at home in the league this season.

Meanwhile, it will be two home games in two days for the Reserves – Andy Crowe’s side will take on Hay St Marys in a Mid Wales League (South) game on Saturday 2 April and then will host Builth Wells Reserves in an Alfred Sparey Cup semi-final on Sunday 3 April.

There are previews of these games on the team’s respective pages of the site so just click on the relevant tab at the top of the page.

Tom Edwards is still looking for help to run Sunday’s matches, specifically a gateman for the Otway Cup semi-final between Talgarth Town and Rhayader Town that is due to kick off at 1.30pm – if you can help out, please get hold of the ‘Piemeister’ as soon as possible.

The results of Saturday’s games will appear online at some stage on Saturday evening, while they will also be on the club’s Twitter page.

Match reports will follow at some stage across the weekend – with two games for the Reserves to discuss the Monday-afternoon chat with ‘Crowie’ could be a two-pinter this week….
