Reserves chase second cup final victory

Presteigne St Andrews FC
The Reserves have already won the Radnor Valley Cup this season

Presteigne Reserves head to Builth Wells’ Lant Field ground on Sunday 1 May for the Builth Spa Cup final in which they will go in search of their second cup win of the season.

Andy Crowe’s side will take on the home side Builth Wells Reserves, although they had to wait until last Tuesday night to find out who their opponents in today’s final would be.

Builth Reserves had to come from a goal down in their semi-final to see off the challenge of Talgarth Town Reserves 3-1 and so ‘Crowie’s’ boys will face the prospect of taking on their opponents on their own pitch.

Presteigne Reserves qualified for the final after a 3-2 victory over Llandrindod Wells Reserves in a match that doubled up as a league game.

In terms of team news, I am afraid I don’t know a great deal as ‘Crowie’ was not answering his mobile this morning!

Alan Stocker, though, won’t figure for the Reserves due to work commitments, but when I last spoke to ‘Crowie’ he was looking into the rules as to how many senior players can figure and so might add one or two from the first-team squad to his travelling party.

Kick off at Lant Field will be at 3.00pm – good luck to the Reserves in this one and here’s hoping they can put another ‘pot’ on the top table for the annual dinner.

It is hoped to have the result and some kind of a match report up online at some stage later today.  If you are going to the game, please take a photo or two and then email them into the site for use in the more detailed match report that it is hoped will be up online at some stage on Monday 2 May.
