Presteigne St Andrews’ manager Trevor Gummer has kindly been in touch with ‘web central’ to update us on the latest with regard to new signings for the coming season.
Clearly, there has been widespread speculation as to how many of last season’s first-team squad is likely to re-sign and also as to how many new faces might also be heading to Llanandras Park.
Trevor admits it has been tough to tie people down so far – but quite rightly points out that this is often the case at this stage of pre-season as many players are keeping their options open.
“In terms of new arrivals, this is still very much a work in progress but I am in talks with five or six players to bring in who would be new from last year,” he said.
“Top of my priority list is a new goalkeeper but I am sure supporters and those close to the club will understand that I am keeping things close to my chest for the moment.
“No doubt things will become clearer as we get into the pre-season friendly programme,” he added.
The first pre-season friendly for the first-team squad is likely to be on Saturday, 30 July when Trevor’s squad will entertain Woofferton at Llanandras Park.
