The Reserves open their pre-season programme in Worcestershire

Presteigne Reserves will open their build up to the new season with a trip to Tenbury Wells on Wednesday, 27 July (kick off 6.45pm).

The Reserves’ boss Stuart Skidmore says he will be fielding something of an experimental side as some players are unavailable.

“It is a fairly early start at Tenbury and clearly it is also a fair distance to travel so some of the lads are going to struggle for this one due to work commitments,” he said.

“Then, others are involved in a cricket match on Wednesday night – fair enough, I suppose as we are still in July!

“But it will give me a chance to look at the strength in depth of our squad and that can only be useful as we build up towards the start of the new season,” he added.

Tenbury play their league football in the West Midland League division two and so are likely to prove a fair test for ‘Skiddy’s’ boys.

They have a up-to-date website – click here if you fancy taking a look – and they won their opening pre-season game on Saturday when they beat visiting Wyre Forest 2-0 at Palmers Meadow.
