First team head to Llanfyllin this weekend

Presteigne St Andrews FC
The first team will be looking to build on the midweek win at Rhosgoch

Presteigne St Andrews FC will be on the road again on Saturday, 27 August when they will make the trip to Llanfyllin Town for the second of three successive away matches.

They will be buoyed up by the fine 2-0 win at Rhosgoch Rangers in the week that saw Trevor Gummer’s side climb off the foot of the second division table.

The fact that this victory was achieved without five first-team players whose work commitments made it impossible to spend an early evening in the Painscastle area made that win all the more impressive and will give Trev food for thought when it comes to the selection for the trip to Llanfyllin.

As it was ‘third time lucky’ for Presteigne St Andrews in the week as they got their league season off and running, so the same could be said for Llanfyllin Town who went into their home game against Four Crosses off the back of two successive defeats in which they had failed to score a goal.

They made up for lost time against ‘Crosses’ though as they ran out 6-3 winners in that one and are above Presteigne on goal difference.

The kick off at Llanfyllin will be at 2.30pm and if you are looking for directions as to how to get there, then you can find them by clicking here.

The Reserves are without a game this weekend as their scheduled opponents Penybont had asked for a blank Saturday as one of their number has a wedding.
