First team pick up a point at Llanfyllin

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Duane Anning scored the third goal to earn the first team a point

Presteigne St Andrews backed up their win at Rhosgoch Rangers in the week by picking up another point on the road when they came away from Llanfyllin Town with a 3-3 draw.

Callum Matthews put Presteigne in front in the first half – a lead they were able to maintain until the interval.

But after the break the home side hit back to first level the match, and then take the lead before Callum netted his second of the game to square things up at 2-2.

Llanfyllin must have thought they had won the game when they then took a 3-2 lead, but Duane Anning thought otherwise when he popped up with another equaliser 10 minutes from time.

My source at the game felt this was a case of  two points dropped, but I am sure Trevor is happy to maintain the momentum away from home that came from the Rhosgoch win.

A more detailed report will appear online at some stage on Monday – given we have the club’s beer festival and fun day tomorrow.
