Presteigne Reserves’ Mid Wales League (South) match against Sennybridge, scheduled for this afternoon – Saturday, 1 October, has been called off.
Sennybridge have informed the league secretary Paul Worts that they are unable to raise a side for the game.
We unreservedly apologise for any inconvenience caused so spectators, players and officials, but I am posting this at around 1.20pm, and have just taken a call from the chairman who was, himself, only informed by the league secretary at 1.10pm.
I would stress that we are in no way attaching any blame at all to Paul Worts or the Mid Wales League (South) as clearly Paul let us know as soon as Sennybridge informed him, but rather this is to illustrate the short notice we were all facing over this one.
It is frustrating for all concerned, not least manager Stuart Skidmore who will now spend an hour or so trying to catch up with all of his players to let them know the game is off.
Once again, our apologies to all concerned but there really was nothing we could do about this one.
