Trev confirms two new signings

Presteigne St Andrews have confirmed the arrival of two new players – one of whom will be very familiar to supporters.

Adriano Girolami has rejoined the club after spells with Newbridge and Rhayader Town and he is likely to turn out for the Reserves on Saturday, 29 October as there is no first-team game.

‘Adj’ enjoyed a highly successful previous spell at Llanandras Park in which, as player-manager, he guided the club to its first-ever Spar Mid Wales League Championship.

But all parties – including Adriano himself – are stressing his return to Llanandras Park is solely as a player as he just wants to focus on that side of his game.

“I have had a long talk with ‘Adj’ and also with manager Trevor Gummer and everyone knows the score,” said chairman Alan Randell.

“While Trev might well opt to pick ‘Adj’s’ brain at times – that will be down to him – the clear understanding is that Trev is the manager and ‘Adj’ is a member of the squad.

“But clearly it will be a boost to bring in a player of Adriano’s experience and ability,” he added.

Also joining Presteigne St Andrews is Dan Wellsbury who has formerly been on the books of both Ludlow Town and Woofferton.

Dan can reportedly play anywhere in the back four and, while it is thought he might need a few games to get up to full match fitness, it is felt he could become a major asset.

It is not yet clear if Dan will be available to play for the Reserves in the home game against Llandrindod Wells Reserves as this will be dependent on his international clearance being processed in time.

Welcome to both players and here’s hoping they enjoy their time at Llanandras Park.
