Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s will be hoping for better luck this Thursday evening (8, March) when they are due to take on Hinton in a HFA Floodlit Youth League match at Llanandras Park.
Last week’s scheduled home game against Leominster Minors went by the wayside after Leominster informed the league they were unable to raise a side for the match.
But the Under 18s’ boss Roy Simcock is not anticipating any such problems tomorrow night, although he is struggling for a side himself due to injuries and illness.
“We look as though we are going to be missing four players for this match – starting with Craig Piggott and Ieuan Crowe, both of whom are injured,” said Roy.
“On top of this, illness has hit the squad all of which means we are also likely to be without Callum Davies and Kyle Slaven.
“So, we will be down to a bare minimum of players going into the game against Hinton, but I still feel it is winnable with the players we have available,” he added.
If Presteigne’s squad needed any added incentive going into this game then Roy could probably point to the Giantkillers Cup match between the sides only three weeks ago when Hinton left Llanandras Park with a 1-0 victory.
The kick off on Thursday evening will be at 7.30pm and admission prices for the game will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
