Presteigne St Andrews crashed to a five-one home defeat in their Spar Mid Wales League, second division game against Aberaeron at Llanandras Park.
In an early kick off due to the potential clash with the rugby, Aberaeron underlined their status as potential champions of the second division by running out comfortable winners.
Presteigne dropped a place to third bottom of the table as Tregaron went above them without even kicking a ball – their game at Meifod was called off.
The four-goal margin of Presteigne’s defeat means Tregaron climb a place due to having a better goal difference.
The Reserves’ recent good form continues – they were 7-1 winners at St Harmon in their Mid Wales League (South) game.
Manager Stuart Skidmore led from the front as he was on the scoresheet in this one, while Tom Durant, Merv Stephens (two goals, one of which was a penalty), Bobby Morgan, Duane Anning and Matty Jones were also on target.
‘Skiddy’s’ side had got the job done by half-time in this one as they had opened out a healthy 4-0 lead by this stage.
There will be more detailed reports up online at some stage – not sure when as the service could be a bit sporadic for the next few days due to work commitments etc.
