Three defeats in two days

Presteigne St Andrews suffered a double disappointment at the weekend as they slipped to two home defeats in as many days.

First of all there was a heavy 6-1 home reversal at the hands of Talgarth Town in the Spar Mid Wales League, second division on Saturday, 24 March.

This result means Presteigne St Andrews remain third bottom of the table, but Bont have found a new lease of life and will surely go above us soon after they reeled off yet another win as they saw off visiting Kerry 6-2.

Bont are now only two points behind Presteigne with the small matter of seven games in hand after showing a surprising new lease of life in the last month or so.

Then the side put up a much better showing on Sunday, 25 March but again found Knighton Town too strong for them in the Otway Cup semi-final as they went down 3-2 at Llanandras Park.

It is with something of a heavy heart that I point out to those who hadn’t already realised, but that is the full set for Knighton over us this season – five wins from five meetings.

Meanwhile, the Reserves went down 3-1 at Knighton’s second string in a Mid Wales League (South) match on Saturday afternoon.

Full match reports to follow as soon as the relevant information lands in my Inbox.  My thanks to Tom Ammonds for ‘minding the shop’ as regards the website over the last week while I was on holiday.
