Wednesday-night action for the first team

Hopefully the early-morning snow won't come to anything

Presteigne St Andrews will host Llandrindod Wells in a Spar Mid Wales League, second division match at Llanandras Park on Wednesday, 4 April.

Trevor Gummer’s side will be expecting another very tough test against a Llan’dod side that has held the whip hand over them in meetings so far this season.

There have been three games between the sides so far – Llan’dod beat Presteigne 3-1 in the third round of the FAW Trophy at the Broadway back in October when Danny Evans was on target for the Llanandras Park side.

If the outcome of that meeting was reasonably close, things have been much more one-sided since – there is no other way of putting it, really, Llan’dod have roundly stuffed us in the other two games.

They won 8-0 at Llanandras Park in the second round of the Spar Mid Wales League Cup, and then 6-0 in the first league meeting at The Broadway only a fortnight ago.

So, as the teachers used to write on my school reports, ‘room for improvement’ as far as the first team is concerned and let’s hope we see a decent performance this evening.

It is going to be tough, though, as there is plenty on it for the Spa side – they are second in the table, two points behind Aberaeron who have two games in hand on them.  So, there is clearly no margin for error as far as Llan’dod are concerned.

The kick off at Llanandras Park this evening will be at 7.30pm and admission prices will be £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
