Presteigne St Andrews FC’s chairman Alan Randell has called a meeting for Thursday, 12 April.
The meeting will be held at the clubhouse at Llanandras Park and is due to get underway at 7.30pm, with plans for a brief business meeting and then a detailed discussion on the direction the club will take for next season.
All committee members are acutely aware of the need for the club to improve its on-field showing next season and there is a variety of proposals on the table for the best way ahead.
While the start of next season might seem a long way off, there is a general feeling within the committee that, given Trevor Gummer’s decision to step down as first-team manager at the end of the present campaign, we need to get things moving so as to give his successor the best chance of putting together a competitive squad.
It is likely that there will be some strong opinions as to the right way ahead for the club so, if you are a committee member, you are urged to make every effort to attend Thursday evening’s meeting.
Just a reminder, then – this Thursday evening, 7.30pm start – the chairman says: ‘Please be on time as he has no doubt he is not the only one who doesn’t want to be there all night’.
A very fair point, Mr Chairman – and one well made…
