Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s will round off their HFA Floodlit Youth League programme on Thursday, 19 April when they will entertain Leominster Minors at Llanandras Park.
Manager Roy Simcock will be looking for a vast improvement from his side after they slipped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at bottom side Llandrindod Wells in their last outing.
While Roy had a number of players missing for the trip to The Broadway so will be hoping some of those players who missed that game due to illness will have recovered in time for this one.
Fixtures between the sides have been somewhat jinxed this season – the first scheduled meeting at Leominster’s Bridge Street on 26 September was called off, as was the first attempt to play the fixture at Llanandras Park as the pitch was waterlogged.
The sides did manage to get a game on at Bridge Street in January which ended in a 2-2 draw with Callum Davies on target for a Presteigne side whose other goal came courtesy of a Leominster player who was unfortunate enough to put through his own goal.
Then the teams were due to meet at Llanandras Park on Thursday, 1 March, but this one went by the wayside as Leominster were unable to raise a side.
Hopefully there will be no such problems on Thursday night and Roy Simcock’s side will be able to round off its season in fine style.
The kick off will be at 7.30pm and admission will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
