A great result for the Reserves

Presteigne Reserves picked up another excellent result when they beat promotion hopefuls Brecon Town 1-0 in their Mid Wales League (South) fixture at Llanandras Park on Tuesday, 26 April.

My thanks to the Ressies’ joint-manager John Bright for forwarding his thoughts on what was clearly a great result for the side.

“Another three points on the board as we beat a strong and physical Brecon side 1-0, with Justin Davies scoring following a shot from Tom Crichton,” said ‘Brighty’.

“Brecon were then reduced to 10 men shortly after the start of the second half and we then had chances to extend our lead, but didn’t manage to take those opportunities.

“Brecon pushed to equalise, but the team dug in and defended well.

“So, that’s two wins on the bounce now which have been achieved by playing some good football and keeping a solid defence.

“We have a tough finish to the season as we are due to host Newcastle in the Alfred Sparey semi final and Rhayader Town Reserves in the league.

“We will be going into the matches with confidence following two well deserved wins.”
