Busy weekend on the way…

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Bienvenue a Parc de Llanandras!

The bulk of the football season might now be firmly behind us, but there is still plenty of activity scheduled for Llanandras Park this weekend.

In fact, in honour of the arrival of our friends from Presteigne’s twin town of Ligne this weekend, for a couple of days only, maybe we should rename it ‘Parc de Llanandras’ in order to make our visitors feel a bit more at home.

Saturday night will see the dinner and awards night at the clubhouse and, although we might be fewer in number than in some recent years, it is still promising to be a good night.

Club chairman Alan Randell will be MC for the evening and there will be the usual challenge of keeping the managers’ speeches down to reasonable lengths.

It is hoped to have a report on the dinner up online at some stage early next week but please remember that if you are planning on being there and you have not yet paid, then bring the money with you on the night – and the right money, so £12.00 per head, please.

Then, on Sunday, there will be no shortage tables to shift in the morning and football to watch in the afternoon.

Details of the football will be on the way shortly in another post while, as for the tables, all those with strong arms and heads that are not throbbing too much from the excesses of the night before would be welcome at the ground at about 9.00am on Sunday morning to help move tables and chairs etc.

Enjoy the weekend, and ‘Allez les rouges et noirs’ – A level French, 30 years ago, so that is not bound to be right, but basically it means: ‘Come on you red and blacks!’
