Brecon Town are through to the Sparey Cup final

Presteigne Reserves’ hopes of an appearance in the club’s own cup final were dashed by Brecon Town who were 3-1 winners in the Alfred Sparey Cup semi-final at Llanandras Park.

Early reports suggest a strong Brecon side were good value for their win, although Duane Anning gave Presteigne Reserves some hope when he put them back in the game at 2-1.

But Brecon then scored a soft third goal and that was effectively ‘game over’ and so ‘Weedo’s’ side will have to wait at least another year before they can have another tilt at the Sparey Cup.

Congratulations to Brecon Town who will now meet either Builth Wells Reserves or Knighton Town Reserves in the final.

The second semi-final will be held at Llanandras Park on Tuesday, 30 April when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
