The Reserves will host Builth Wells Reserves on Saturday

Here’s hoping the worst of the predicted weather misses us completely – but if it doesn’t, then let’s hope it has the decency to wait until after Saturday’s matches before it does hit the region.

It is ER Jenkins Cup action again for the first team who are due to head to Forest Road to take on Hay St Marys.

Hay have played three matches in the competition so far and they have all been tight affairs – at least, they look that way if you go on the scorelines alone.

Hay opened up with a 4-3 home win over Talgarth Town before losing out by the odd goal in three in their away game at Knighton Town.

Last week they returned to winning ways with a 3-2 victory at Rhosgoch Rangers and so are currently leading the group with six points from three matches.

Presteigne St Andrews are joint-second on four points from two games with identical goal differences, so this match could go a long way towards defining which teams are likely to progress to the semi-final stages.

In the day’s other game in the Pool, Rhosgoch Rangers will host Knighton Town.

Meanwhile, in the Mid Wales League (South), Presteigne Reserves’ manager Mark Weiland will be hoping for more of the same from his side as they prepare to welcome Builth Wells Reserves to Llanandras Park.

This will be the second visit in little over two weeks for the Lant Field club as Presteigne ousted them from the Pip Samual (Electrical) League Cup on Saturday, 12 October.

Duane Anning was the scourge of Builth’s second string that day as he helped himself to a hat-trick as the Reserves ran out 3-1 victors.

Admission prices for the Reserves’ game will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16, while the kick off will be at 2.30pm.
