Presteigne St Andrews FC came away from Hay St Marys with a point to show for their efforts as the Spar Mid Wales League, second division game ended in a 3-3 draw.

Danny Ives reportedly put us ahead, only for Hay to level things up witha long-range effort from Rob McNamara.

Again, Presteigne went in front as Chris Jones marked his return to the club by scoring to give us a 2-1 advantage, but Hay were not to be denied and they squared the game when Rob McNamara repeated his early effort with another 25-yarder.

It then looked as though things were starting to slip away from Danny Williams’ side as Jack Biggs put the home side ahead, but Callum Matthews came up with an equaliser to earn Presteigne a point.

Unfortunately things deteriorated right at the end of the game as – while I don’t have the details of the incidents – Alex Winstone was sent off on 90 minutes and Joe Mayglothling also saw red, in his case, after the final whistle.

I will put up further details as and when they come to hand, but the point gained from Hay ensures we remain in fourth place in the second division table –  three points behind Hay St Marys in third, but we do have two games in hand.

There was no game for the Reserves this weekend – they will return to action on Tuesday, 26 November when they will host Radnor Valley in their rearranged Alfred Sparey Cup quarter-final tie.

The kick off at Llananadras Park in that one will be at 7.30pm.
