Action under the lights this week

Presteigne St Andrews FC will be in action on Friday evening this week when they will take Talgarth Town in a Spar Mid Wales League game on 3 October.

This is a game between two sides that have found points hard to come by so far this season.

Presteigne St Andrews are second-bottom of the league table with four points while Talgarth Town will go into the match one place and two pints better off.

But they have played two more matches than Presteigne and so both managers will probably feel they are going into this game pretty much on level pegging.

The kick off at Llanandras Park on Friday night will be at 7.30pm and the admission prices will be the usual £2.50 for adults,; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.

Presteigne St Andrews FC would like to thank Mike Lewis from Castle Road for his kind sponsorship of this game.

There will be no game for the Reserves this weekend as national cup competitions mean there has been a heavy demand for match officials and so Mid Wales League (South) secretary Paul Worts understandably opted to declare a blank weekend.

So, there will be no football at Llanandras Park on Saturday, but plenty on Friday night, while those in the club’s 100 Club will also find out the winners of the September draw on Friday evening.

The draw was postponed last Friday as some of the key players were away but it will take in the clubhouse after the game against Talgarth Town.
