It’s a trip to Brecon Northcote for the Reserves

Presteigne St Andrews FC will be on the road again when they head to Bettws for a Spar Mid Wales League, second division game on Saturday, 5 December.

As reported on the site yesterday, manager Mark Weiland has again been forced into changes, not least because Kai Dayas and Tom Ammonds are both suspended.

Bettws are mid-table in the division, but their points haul has been very much based on their home form.

They have won four and drawn one of their five matches on their own ground so far this season, so the challenge for ‘Weedo’ and his squad is to become the first side to win there this season.

As for the Reserves, they are also on their travels – they will head to Brecon Northcote for a Mid Wales League (South) match.

Brecon Northcote picked up their third win of the league season last weekend when they came away from Carno Reserves with a 5-3 success.

They remain third-bottom in the table, but moved to within three points of St Harmon immediately above them, but they have two games in hand over the Swifts.

But Duane Anning and John Bright will feel this represents a good chance for back-to-back wins, not least because Brecon Northcote’s away record is far better than their home form.

Here’s hoping we all have plenty to celebrate come Saturday evening – it’s hoped to have the results up online at some stage on Saturday evening with reports in the days to follow.
