Presteigne’s international karate star Kerrie Griffin will begin her campaign in the sport’s 24th World Championships on Tuesday, 6 November.

You may remember the club teamed up with Presteigne Cricket Club and others to help Kerrie meet the expenses incurred in heading to Madrid to take part in the Championships.

She is a self-funded athlete and so the two clubs – together with other local organisations – have rallied around to help support her in this prestigious event.

If you would like to see the original article outlining our support then you can do so by clicking here.

Kerrie is certainly going to be busy – she will be competing in the female 68kg Kumite (fighting) category and also competing in the Female Senior Kata.

I am sure everyone connected with the Football Club wishes Kerrie all the best and here’s hoping she manages to exceed her own hopes and expectations in the coming days.
