Presteigne St Andrews chairman Alan Randell has this evening confirmed the scheduled home Spar Mid Wales League first division game against Llanidloes Town on Boxing Day has been postponed.
For anyone living in or around the Presteigne area – or Mid Wales for that matter – this news will hardly come as a bolt from the blue.
There are still several inches of snow on the pitch while it is still frozen under the snow and with overnight temperatures due to drop well below freezing between now and 26 December it was not a hard call to make.
The Reserves’ game at Knighton Town has not yet been called off but it is anticipated club officials at Bryn-y-Castell will be taking a look over the next 24 hours or so.
As soon as we get any news of the Knighton-Reserves fixture it will be posted on the site.
