Presteigne St Andrews FC
Action from the first-team game at Waterloo earlier this season

Both Presteigne St Andrews and Presteigne Reserves are due to be in action this weekend with the first team at home to Waterloo Rovers and the Reserves facing a trip to St Harmon.

After the fine win at Dyffryn Banw last week, Barry Williams and his first-team squad will be looking to build on this when they host Waterloo Rovers at Llanandras Park.

When the sides met at Welshpool in early November, Presteigne ended up on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline but they will point to the disruption caused by the loss of goalkeeper Trevor Gummer due to injury in the first half of that one.

Barry has a few injury concerns ahead of this one – Max Powell is the latest player to report a problem so he will have to make late checks on a number of players but Danny Ives definitely misses out due to suspension.

The Reserves warmed up for their trip to St Harmon with a Thursday-night Radnor Valley cup win over Llandrindod Wells Reserves and they will be hopeful of building on their recent good away form at the Mid Wales League (South’s) bottom club.

But manager Andy Crowe will be mindful that the Swifts will be in good heart after their 5-3 home win over Radnor Valley last weekend, while ‘Crowie’s’ side was knocked out of the League Cup at St Harmon earlier in the season.
